The Truth About GMOs in Organic Food

The Truth About GMOs in Organic Food

There are many kinds of GMOs, and all of them are produced with the same goal in mind: to produce a better product. That is definitely what needs to be done in this day and age, as not everything that is sold to us is necessarily natural or healthy for us. There are many things that we buy that aren’t even food, but are instead snacks or treats that we give our dogs or ourselves. Having the ability to create healthier options for ourselves and our dogs is a good thing and I applaud those that take the time to do it.

Are GMOs Bad for You?

No, definitely not. While there may be some bad side effects from consuming GMOs, there aren’t enough bad side effects to stop you from eating them. In fact, most foods on the market now have some sort of GMO in them, whether it is a plant or an animal. So unless you don’t want any GMO in your life, then going with organic foods is your best option.

Are GMOs Bad for the Environment?

GMOs can be fairly damaging to the environment and I don’t think that anyone wants that. They require lots of water, which isn’t always readily available, and they also require lots of pesticides and other chemicals to grow. On top of that, they are also able to grow faster than non-GMO crops, so there is still a need for non-GMO crops even though most commercial farms use only GMO ingredients.

As you can see, there are many good reasons why you would want to eat organic foods. Not only will you be supporting an industry that treats its employees well, but you will also be giving your body a good treatment too. Most doctors won’t go into too much detail about how you should treat your body, but if you treat it right, then you should have no issue with how your body responds to consumingOrganic foods

Treat Yo’self – Because who doesn’t love being treated well? Even if it is just yourself, sometimes it feels great to give yourself a treat!

What Shouldn’t You Eat?

There are a few things that you should absolutely avoid when you decide that you want to eat organic foods:

Meats – conventionally grown meats have been treated with pesticides and other chemicals for preservation purposes and can contain high amounts of hormones and antibiotics meats – conventionally raised meats tend to be more expensive than meats that aren’t raised in such a way but haven’t been treated with hormones or antibiotics fruits – most fruits come from countries where they spray water on everything just for funnies vegetables – including potatoes eggplant etc… all of these can be contaminated with pesticides grains – including corn wheat and rice

A Final Word on GMOs

The jury is still out on whether consuming GMOs is actually bad for us, however there are studies going on daily that show more positive results than negative results from consuming GMOs. If one doesn’t want to take the risk of eating genetically modified food then sticking with conventionally grown products will do just fine. There aren’t many downsides to consuming organic foods other than the price point being higher than normal due to smaller quantities being involved.

If one has the choice between buying conventional or organic then choosing conventional every time probably wouldn’t make sense since they are unlikely to notice any difference in health between the two except for possibly cost savings. However, if one doesn’t have the choice between those two options then going with the organic option will give their body a much better treatment while also being more environmentally friendly than purchasing from a store owner whose actions they don’t have control over.
