If you don’t enjoy drinking iced tea, then please skip down to the end where I give tips on how you can make it hot. I strongly suggest that you read all the way through until the end. There are many important things that I haven’t mentioned that you should know about how to make matcha tea.
How to Make Matcha Tea without Sugar
The first thing that you are going to need is some kind of teakettle. No matter which type of teakettle you choose, they all work relatively the same way. You add roughly three tablespoons of green tea per cup of water, and then boil it for roughly three minutes. This process is known as steeping the tea and changing the flavors of the tea.
Once your water has boiled for around three minutes, remove it from the heat source and let it sit for around ten minutes. During this time, the flavor of your tea will become stronger and more distinct. After ten minutes, remove your teapot from the fridge and try pouring yourself a cup of tea. If you try but fail to get yourself a cup of ice-tea, don’t worry; wait until it melts before trying again.
Now that we have that out of the way, we can go onto how we can add sugar to our iced matcha tea. The best way that I have found so far to add sugar is with agave nectar. Agave nectar is essentially pure fructose sugar and can be used in place of regular sugar if you want a sweetened drink with a lot less calories than regular sugar would add up to. To replace one tablespoon of regular sugar with one tablespoon of agave nectar, mix together two teaspoons of agave nectar with one teaspoon of water in a small bowl or measuring cup designed for this sort of thing and then pour them into your teapot half full with green tea before boiling it again. Wait around ten more minutes and then try pouring yourself a glassful of iced matcha tea; depending on whether or not you added milk, there may be someGhostsInTheTeaArabic if not everything will be dissolved correctly. Some types don’t dissolve very well or at all in cold drinks, so keep that in mind when preparing your drink beforehand.
